There are always many things happening while the shutter is open – be it 1/30th of a second, 1/4000th or a 1/2 second. A photo is never a moment, but a timeframe, compressed.
With the longer exposures and my involvement, it is more apparent that the final result is a median of everything that occurred. The image is not a clear picture of something, leaving room for the viewer to imprint in it what he makes of the work. An opportunity to discover a bit of oneself through this piece of the world. The calmer the water, the clearer the reflection is visible.
